The main objective of the Centre of Ignatian Spirituality (CIS) is to promote the Ignatian Spirituality in general and the Ignatian-personally-directed-retreat in particular. CIS is an apostolic tool to spread and accompany those who wish to learn or move further in their life of prayer.

The main core of our spirituality is found in the spiritual charism of St Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Jesuit Order, known familiarly as the Jesuits.

Six Jesuits are official members of CIS. The Jesuits are also helped by a good number of lay and women religious co-operators, well trained to assist people in retreats, spiritual direction and prayer accompaniment. There are presently 25 new candidates who are undergoing their three year training course in the art of retreat giving and spiritual direction.

CIS runs its activities helped by a board that sees to all its annual activities and policies and three working groups, mainly Parish Ignatian Ministry (PIM), Communictions Working Group (CWG) and a Commission of three whose task is to supervise the three year course of formation.

PIM is made up of seven members. Their main task is to help promote prayer at the Parish level. The group helps people on a one-to-one basis to learn how to pray. CWG is made up of certain individuals who see to publications, re-editing of Jesuit material and the use of the internet.

CIS prepares a programme of activities for each academic year. Most of the activities are hosted in our retreat houses.
